The Christmas Wish Meme

The Rules:
Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. You an also check out this post http://fabricdragon.livejournal.com/127623.html because she lists lots of charities you can craft for for the holidays. There's also a LJ group ([info]holiday_wishes where folks post lists like this) And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I have a feeling this year's list will look a lot like last year's....

1. A job for John
2. The much-hoped for break in language development for Anneliese
3. Health Insurance
4. A bigger house. Or rather, a financial situation that would allow us to build (see #1). This place is getting darned cramped.
5. About 6 extra hours per day - three to sleep, and three to get things done in.

And in a more normal sense:
6. Any of the A-Z books from Country Bumpkin. Though I lean most strongly to Goldwork and Whitework. I love pretty much all their stuff. *sigh* To include the new issue of "Smocking and Embroidery." Someone knows my weakness for the chocolate and pink color combo. Boo would look smashing!
7. A couple hours to just roll in the stock at this place.
8. A pie bird. Preferably a vintage style. Actually, I can see me collecting the silly things someday when I have more room. Why? I don't know. Do I need a reason?
9. A heap of fine white linen for coifs, shifts, cut work, etc. I never can find any I'm that happy with. And I could probably go through it in bolts.
10. A new copy of Celtic Twilight 3, as I wore a groove in the last one using it for a lullaby for Anneliese. Busy wearing out "Daddies Sing Goodnight" for Rori. I might need to change it up soon.

My e-mail is on my profile page, in case anybody has helpful hints. Especially as regards #1.
