Fabric question -

John has announced he thinks he might like his new kit in red and BLACK. O_o. Hmmm - how much of a bleeding problem is THAT likely to be? Red I can usually set pretty well with a wash in cold water with vinegar and salt. Any way to stop black from fading and turning into green/navy/purple?

Since we're wandering off his Heraldic colors anyway, I'm tempted to try to talk him into Royal blue with red in the slashing. ;-)

Thoughts?

Black linen turns lighter pretty doggone quick and bleeds into the red. I have had pretty good luck with black wool though. Blue fades out pretty quick too, but since we see blues in a range (rather than faded black) it may be better visually longer.
