Probably a good idea. If she finds me any serious goodies, we'll give that a go.
BTW - I hadn't gotten back to you on research organization. Granted, I keep most of mine on my PC, but you could use a very similar approach to hard copy. I keep a database:

When I'm writing a paper, I have a system for that, too. I get a package of 3x5 cards. When I start using a new source, I note the bib info on a card, and number it. Then, each time I find something in that source to use, I write it on a fresh card - one thought per card. I put the number of the source in the corner of the card. I find it will take me about 8-10 cards/page at a minimum to write a paper. I try and keep a ratio of about 1:2 quotes to paraphrased bits. When I have all my notes taken, I sit down with the cards and put them in order of how I will present each thought. Then, I can take my cards, sit down, and write the paper by going card to card, tossing each aside as I'm done. Since they're numbered, I can easily insert my footnotes without having to break my stride (I use in-text footnotes). Then I can write out my Bib using the Bib cards. I can write a 25 page paper in about 2 hours. Don't know if that helps.
