So, early this AM I read a post on my F'list proposing an exchange of Artists' Trading Cards. Which got me noodling again. (run away! runaway!)

I don't know about anybody else, but I have a hard time keeping straight whom I've met in the SCA who does WHAT. Does it seem like a worthwhile idea to anybody else to have Artisan Trading Cards - some sort of decorative whatsit on the front, contact information and area of interest and such on the back. Maybe an "Artisans of the Midream" type thing. Or include the Knowne World and put Kingdom of Residence on the back as well.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, check here:

I'm sort of inclined to do a series with the Cheese Ladies - sketches/paintings with fabric or beaded embellishment. Etc, etc.

Granted, the visual arts are most suited to these things. But you could make thin, carved wood ones, or cards with some bars of music on them, etc, etc.

Thoughts? Suggests? Blows to the head in the hopes that I'll cease and desist?

Still noodling on the quilt.

I really do think I'll pick out a 40's block pattern (maybe two - alternating).

Now, provided I can find them in person at a local shop (it's too hard to design a quilt if you can't fondle the fabrics. Online or paper swatches aren't big enough for a real feeling of how the colors and scales interact), which collection would be best? I'm going for a lt. blue and red quilt. So I'd like a large scale print with red roses on a blue ground, plus cooridnating damasks, small scales, dots, and stripes. I'll probably back it in a stripe. Then maybe curtains in a white and red stripe with a more solid red border.

So -

Swell

Darla

or

Ava Rose??

Whadday'all think?
