Happy 4th!

Just watched the Grand Haven fireworks from the front yard. They must have upgraded the sound system, as we could hear the music clearly - which is a first. The program had changed some, to include some Bruce Springsteen along with the usual John Williams, Sousa, and Lee Greenwood. Also threw in "Have you Forgotten?" - it is West Michigan, after all. Nice show.

ablackram came over for barbecued pork with her hubby. Eats were had and conversation decent, though Rori was a little cranky. Hope they enjoyed the food before they went off to make large things go "boom."

In addition to John's signature pork, I had hit the farmer's market. So we had root veggie chips, snap peas, and squash. And to my utter surprise (perhaps due to the company?) Anneliese ate all of the above at least a couple of bites - without protest of the usual wailing and carrying on. ?!?!?

Dinner ended with sweet and sour cherry cobbler.
