Retreat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feb. 18th, 2010 05:30 pmI spent the last 2 days at the JW Marriot in Grand Rapids for a business meeting. Novartis is the only one of the animal pharma companies to have apparently cottoned on to the demographic shift in the veterinary profession. Ergo, they have been sponsoring these Women's Educational Retreats. 2 guest lecturers, 2 round tables, one spa treatment, one sponsored dinner and on and on. Interesting, fairly enjoyable. But I came home tired. I am unused to being up that late, drinking cocktails, and having Bruinhilde as my masseuse (still sore, thanks).
However, I was sort of reminded how much fun it is to get out of the house for a few and hang out with the goils. Which is the only reason we ever did Golden Seamstress and the only part of it I miss.
I wonder if anybody would have an interest in, say, a costumer's retreat. ;-) Sort of like the scrapbooker's nights that sometimes happen during hotels' off seasons.
Guest speaker, round table, room full of sewing machines and tables, dinner out, access to the hotel hot tub....
OK, taking my sleep-deprived, over stimulated brain off line for a bit, then.
