We wandered out this AM to do a little browsing. Interestingly, Vanderveen's has small containers of speculaas spice (in case anybody out there wants some), rather than the ginormo container at De Reuze's. The also have speculoos spread (as near as I can tell, a creamy spread flavored with speculaas spices.), and ground galangal, of all things. But no bakers' ammonia.

Currently I have some perioid pepernoten in the oven. We shall see.

Rori is busily NOT napping right now. I'd have thought she was just toast when I put her down. I'm wondering how long to leave her up there before I give up on naps today.

I'd still like to do some more baking today if I get the chance.

Apparently Joomla! 1.6 is not yet ready for a generalized release, let alone truly stable. So I'll forgo it for a while and just continue to cringe at the job it will be to convert my current sections and categories into nested categories. *shudder*

Meantime, I have started some holiday pages. Expect more to come.

Sooner or later I'll figure out how to turn on the SEO friendly urls. Blech. I think I have to get into the C-Panel and do something to the php, but I don't know for certain. *grump*

Soft cakes on the counter, rising for the moment. Soon to be baked, and then I will add those.

Anybody have any Dutch/German period references to pastry and marzipan rolled together and shaped before baking?
