Anybody know what (if any) gemstones or semiprecious rocks are native to the lower Peninsula of MI?

Check with the State Department of Natural Resources -- if they have a web page, it may very well be on there. It might also be called the Natural Heritage Program.

*rofl* Yeah. WE think it's semiprecious. I was thinking more gem-type minerals. I remember picking up rose quartz and other things as a kid - none of which was nearly gem quality. I was curious what else was available.
