..... is it worth taking the effort to send a politely worded message to the Kingdom Curia spelling out my issues with the concept of setting Kingdom A&S Faire permanently in a corner of the Kingdom? At a site not by any stretch an ideal venue. Knowing full well I will likely get told to sit down and quit rocking the boat.

I'm in a funk, Kingdom-wise. I twitched toward some light muslin at JoAnns the other day - contemplating making another stack of beaded veils. And decided there currently isn't anybody I care to give them to.

Basically, I'm feeling disregarded. And therefore not motivated to put effort into doing anything that isn't for me and mine.

Unless motivation feels like someone parking a couch on your chest. In which case, I'm all kinds of motivated.

If you dont at least have your say, you will forever think "What if I had just spoken up". Even if you are told to sit down and shut it, you can at least sleep well at night knowing you tried. And often all it takes is a spark to light a fire. Your letter could enbolden other to also speak up, starting the snowball effect.

Honestly, I expect to be summarily ignored. But at least I can't be accused of not having said anything. SOrt of "Speak now, or forever hold your peace."

I would write the letter to get it off your chest, and then there won't be any regrets...
then
Move on, do what you love for the people you love and forget the rest. Things will turn around again when you are least expecting it. There are people out here who are inspired by your research. Keep your thoughts comming! I know of two other ladies here (other than me) who have been inspired by your flemmish stuff and have had the balls to then test theories of their own.
We all have to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Probably a good plan.

I might even post a (locked) draft for review before I send it. ;-)

It's up in my journal. I'd appreciate suggestions. Too negative, too accusatory, not strong enough, whatever.

Well you're certainly inspiring me with RUM. I'm using your articles idea. Working with Ailith to figure out how to web it easily.

If you want stuff in the faire, I'll make sure it gets there if you don't feel like going.

Let me know what she says, I can always dig through my personal archive of stuff that isn't quite ready for publication and GET it ready.

Part of the problem is, I had been planning a Pent entry. And part of that was likely to need to be cooking. Even if it was a baked item that I could make in advance, I wouldn't be able to make it very FAR in advance. So I was waiting until Faire turned up close enough to home to make it feasible.
