And, of course, her new dance bag. Which she picked out. I offered her the Cocoa Brown with the pale pink polka dots. But she preferred this retina-damaging color combo. And Grandma was right there with her, so there we were.
The shoes, for the one person likely to care, are Antonio Pacielli gazelles. Eminently suitable first shoes.
I also ordered her a couple of T-shirts to wear. Will stop at Target for shorts. And she'll be all set. We have a meeting with her aide-to-be on Thursday. So everything is almost in line.
Most surprising was how much the whole Irish Dance thing seemed to appeal to her Grandpa. Well, I knew he'd like the music. I think he was even tempted to buy a CD. But he was really entranced by the competitive aspect. I think he feels kids are a little too shielded from disappointment these days. And the notion that they had to earn those sparkly dresses by winning really seemed to take him. Note that Anneliese might never dance in a Feis. But we'll go now and then, as she likes to watch. Grandpa may come along for the ride from time to time.

Now I have to knit some arm and leg warmers for winter. Trying to figure out how to get leg warms to stay up on the dowels that my child has for legs.
