Take butter out of freezer in advance of wanting to make cake.

Cake pans acquired. Though there is one odd effect of the whole relocation spectre: It is robbing me of any desire to acquire anything on the grounds that I don't want to have to move it. A major move will require me to rather ruthlessly divest of a lot of what I have already accumulated. Think we'll even leave the appliances here and deal with that when we move. Especially since any relocation allowance is likely to have a wt. limit on it.

Not that I couldn't stand to get rid of a bunch of stuff. And I was planning on a sale this spring anyway. I might just end up having to move up my timetable. A lot. Or maybe we'll play the two-places game again for a while. Won't be the first time. *sigh*

I am at least coming to terms with the fact that there are aspects of my life I can control and aspects I cannot. This is one of the latter, Still, luck favors the prepared. Hence the research into the area. I wonder if Manassas allows chickens?

Hiya! [livejournal.com profile] tattycat asked me to say Hi because I hang out with Stierbach (the SCA group which contains Manassas). So, if you have questions about the area or the group, lemme know (my gmail is this username)

Thanks! So far, its just a remote possibility. But, in the spirit that luck favors the prepared, we've been investigating. Moves are made more complicated for us because our oldest is Autism Spectrum/PDD-NOS. Manassas looks to have pretty good programming in that regard, as well as easy access to D.C. and Quantico, nice housing, and decent dining/shopping/farmers' markets, etc. And even three different Irish Dance schools.

We'd appreciate any info you might have for somebody looking at the area, really.

;-) Know any good real estate agents?

I don't know any good real estate agents, but I know a lot of people who live around there.

I also know a few people in the area who have autism spectrum kids, so you would be far from alone - and since Manassas is in the Greater DC area, you do have a ton of resources. Not to mention nice and close to the mountains. :D

If you want me to boost your signal, I can post on my blog, or I can just sniff around ;)

If you wouldn't mind, that would be very nice. If this does happen, I suspect it will be with a speed that will leave my head spinning. ;-) I'd like to sort of get my ducks in a row, if I can.

Well, if I can't look out at the Lake, Mountains might be a worthwhile substitute. ;-)
