Stash Review

I unloaded the contents of my trunk and some of the storage into my cedar chest today, which allowed me a chance to assess my current stash and what I COULD conceivable make from it. Provided I can find my muslin and pattern something. This is keeping me occupied while it's too hot to sew and too likely to storm to bother with the fireworks downtown.

5 yds of premium muslin - at least one smocked shirt for John. Should be some left over.

1 1/2 yds of premium muslin - smock for Rori

5 yds of butter linen - middle/lower class Saxon gown?

4-5 yds red linen - unspoken for

5 yds? blue linen - summer garb for the girls?

4ish yds peacock linen, very light weight - not yet spoken for

2-3 yds green linen - unspoken for

6 yds brown wool - unspoken for

6 7/8 sea green wool - unspoken for

6 yds teal velveteen - Saxon Court gown (with 2 yds of gold brocade)

5 yds of Loden and 3 3/8 yds red velveteen - Saxon Court outfit for John

3 yds Navy linen - German doublet for John

4 yds Primrose yellow linen - Slops for John

Black and Red twill - Rok for John

2 yds of brocade for a doublet for John

4 yds of deep blue wool for a petticoat/underskirt

Burgundy herringbone Twill - earmarked for a corset of some sort

Various snippets of silks and wool for trim and slashing. Possibly enough for a doublet. Bits of acro, organdy, interfacing, and other useful snippets.

Yes, this is vaguely insane. But it's pretty much ALL in the cedar chest, now. (OK, big cedar chest)

Are any of these decent as a basis for German fighting gear? John is trying to redo his kit, and I'm using the manuscript from Emperor Maximilian as inspiration... but he'd like more detail on other aspects. Trying to figure out how to integrate period appearance with SCA requirements, lighten the kit, and pimp out a pair of high teks to LOOK like they go with it.
