I'm doing some tweaking. ;-)

If you've the time, look again:

www.insaneaboutgarb.com/joomla

I shrunk the banner 30px, condensed the margins on the content wrappers, and generally tightened the presentation and layout.

Better?

Off to go fuss with the footer, and maybe fight again with the who "@fontface" trick.

Lots of work yet to do. The copyright code is misbehaving. The ability CSS is SUPPOSED to have to project out any font isn't working. And I have to go apply correct markers to the headings in all the articles.

Just when I get things finished, the Joomla! team will probably have released version 1.6 and I'll get to learn a whole new interface, re-assign all my articles to put them into nested categories, make new menus for the secondary navs, tweak the template, and update the extensions.

Blerg.

But it should be both easy to use and pretty when it's done.

I want it to be memorable and informative. So that it looks clean and neat, as well as providing the content.

I'll want a review when I get more content up. ;-)

Out of curiosity, if you navigate the the Textile or Baking page - do the secondary menu and content display in line - or does the content show up below the menu?

It's all in line, and fits on the screen, which is awesome.

(I should have said before, I'm using Mozilla.)

It's so fabulous to have people willing to trouble-shoot on various platforms! Thanks!

I've tried to build it as a fluid template, so that it OUGHT to just flex to fit the screen.

I'm trying to make it easy for everybody AND get away from static HTML and tables. Besides, the next version of Joomla! won't support tables for template layout. This way, I should be able to migrate the template without too much trouble.

Its looking great to me on Chrome, fantastic job!

IMHO, the CSS fontface is a hit or miss kinda thing, the font has to be on the users computer and the browser has to implement it properly

Yeah, I was mostly playing. ;-)

If I'm understanding correctly, the @fontface property is supposed to tell the browser to go use the font file from the server - you have to specify the url in the stylesheet, then you can use it anywhere in that stylesheet. But I can't, as yet, get it to work.

So far, it works great in Chrome, Mozilla, and Safari, displays find in IE without the rounded corners, and I haven't checked with anything else.

I need to go back into the individual articles and clean up heading markers and such. But it's coming along.

ROFL. SO not something to turn into a competition.

Hopefully, as I have time to play around I'll start getting a few recipes up, too.

Thought my husband was going to pop a lung when he read the Baking section intro.
