Cats and Strawberries

Somehow or another another of my screens popped out of it's window this AM. Luckily a 1st floor one. Not sure which of the cats knocked it loose, but it was D'artagnan who ended up going "over the wall" so to speak. Luckily, the neighbor was on her way out, and spotted screen and terrified kitty in the grass. She came and knocked on the door, and D'artagnan was rescued. Hopefully it was traumatic enough that he won't try for a repeat.
After THAT little thrill, it was off to the Feast of the Strawberry Moon. Recreationists, vetted and sponsored by the Tri-Cities Historical Museum come out to Harbor Island and set up a small "trading camp" of about 1760 vintage. There are "battles" with the French and Indians on one side and the Brits on the other. Demos of cooking, blacksmithing, carpentry, and fiber arts. A few vendors. It's a good time. We came home with just a catalog, but enjoyed. Though I was (once again) mildly horrified by one of the re-enactors who was running about painted red wearing not nearly enough breechclout. John dubbed him "Little Running Thong." Oi. Dude. Seriously. More bunnies. Though most of them ARE serious re-enactors. They sport appropriate haircuts. The "Indians" shave everything but a topknot, the continentals long moustaches and braids. The voyaguers demonstrate canoe building. It's pretty well done.
Ran into Norm and Alisa while we were there. They were going to head to the local SCA business meeting afterwards. Had an interesting conversation with them, we shall see what comes of it, if anything.
Came home, through Rori in bed, and made some strawberry gelato. Then got her back up and went to the park for a while. Anneliese is so wound up it's not even funny. We did run into two teachers who recognized her today - one who had her in class, and one who just knew here. Is that a GOOD thing? Or a bad thing? Not sure.
Up doing a few things electronically and compiling some information. Then beddy time.
