Two points, for the win!

The hubs made points the other night. Like most guys, his deliberate attempts at compliments are usually a little flat - he's trying too hard, and it's just not that believable. It's when he says something in passing, and doesn't realize what he's saying, that he really goes over the top.
We were sitting down for a reprise of "Dhoom 2" (I know, I know, but all in all - not a bad little flick).
Here's a sample:
We'd been discussing genetic bottlenecks, migration patterns, mitochondrial DNA (it's just summpin' we do...), and markers that reveal the order in which parts of the Eurasian continent were colonized. And he turns and looks at me and says, "You know, that makes sense. I can see a lot of the same features. The more I look at her, the more I see you."
O_o And thus, my husband has just compared me to Aishwarya Rai - often referred to as the most beautiful woman in the world. Miss World 1994. 40+ movies to her credit. Regularly makes lists of the most beautiful women in whatever category is being annalyzed.

Heh. I R now motivated to get back into the yoga groove.
And I think I maybe need to take John in for an eye exam. Eventually

And she is GORGEOUS. I'd hold off on the eye exam for a while, personally. Spousal Unit once compared me to Courtney Cox, which isn't in this league, but hey, we takes what we can get, especially with the baby hip spread and the graduate student sitting on her butt exercise program.

Date: 2010-09-17 09:15 pm (UTC)It may be possible to overthink things. But at least I'm married to someone who can keep up. Various subjects have been brought forth for dissection in the evenings. This is just one we come back to from time to time. Comes from too much history/archaeology in the educational background.

Date: 2010-09-17 11:09 pm (UTC)Oh, no, say it isn't so! There can NEVER be too much history/archaeology in the educational background! ;-) I just picked up middle son's books for his physical anth intro class. He and Spousal Unit do the hard sciences more, and I'm the soft science. Makes for some interesting conversations. ;-)
