So, the time has come to redo the kitchen, some. On a cheapie budget, how-some-ever. So the slightly-pickled-glaze light cherry cabinets will stay. As will the sage-y/sea green solid surface countertops with black, grey, white, and beige flecking. Probably will also keep the white painted trim.

For the rest, what do you think? The house is a 40's style cape cod. I have a low-grade cottage-y retro-ish theme going on, but not massively. The front room, next to the kitchen, is likely to get painted tiffany blue. So:

Pink walls, red floor?
White walls, red floor?
White walls, harbor blue floor?

There is currently a lighthouse border hanging, but I'm not married to it. Just need something that will go OK with the green counters and a darker floor color (John is against my painting it white). I'm tired of the hunter green that is currently ON the floor. And too much of the rest of the house is painted yellow.

Idea me!

Have you considered painting the cabinets? Do you like the cabinets? You could also replace one or two of the cabinet fronts with glass for fairly cheap, I'd think.

I think I'd go with the harbor blue floor, since the hall is going to be blue. Red is my favorite color, but I like the tie in with other rooms. I went with COLOR in my house, and now I feel like it's too blocked out and doesn't flow. Have you considered a chocolate floor?
