So, I have now e-mailed the Museum we suspect to be holding the paintings of the Dutch ladies. Wow. That makes them sort of sound like kidnappers, doesn't it? *g* Don't tell no me. I included a few of the inventory numbers, in the hopes of getting a useful response. I asked if the paintings in question had ever been pictured in a catalog, and if images are available for purchase.
While I'm at it, does anybody know anything about this book?:
Bayerisches Nationalmusem. Fächer: Kunst und Mode auf fünf Jahrhunderten. München: Hirmer, 1987
Or this one:
Bruegel to Rembrandt: Dutch and Flemish Drawings from the Maida and George Abrams Collection - This is a catalog of the exhibition. Looks like it might be intriguing.
