Re-writing the ol' to-do list

Hopefully I can get a little bit accomplished this weekend. Work has been crazy-busy as it's Rabies-rush season. (Meaning that since in this County, you must have your dog license by March first or the price jumps from $10 to $80 - so everybody and their brother procrastinates and waits to get their vaccine in Feb.)
We're off to the Michigan Winter Beer Fest with our pals-ies. I'm the designated driver, so we'll have a van-load. We'll see what else we get up to while we're at it. Alaina had mentioned trying to fit Darling for a doublet. However, he's lost 20 lbs and intends to lose another 30, so I'm not sure that's a worthwhile enterprise. It wouldn't fit by the time I got it done.
I've decided to focus on the Noord-Holland dresses for RUM, and save the material on the earlier gowns for another class.
Scribal work continues.... 'nuff said for now. *g* I'm being a tease.
I think I may do some very simple little sweet bags with discs of period chocolate (with instructions on making up the drink), and possibly a smocked chemise, shirt, or two for HRH. Stuff that requires little effort on my part.
I've agreed to start writing outgoing reports for the Academy of St. Gabriel again, as the manpower shortage is really decreasing the amount of stuff that can get done. I'm somehwat ambivalent at the moment. I like heraldry and onomastics. I get fairly frustrated with the average SCA clueless herald, and the absolute ignorance of the submission process as well as what constitutes a good period name and device. And I've got other interests higher in mind.
I also want to sit down and sort of map out where I want my research to go. Expect a locked post on this later, with a request for advice. But I think I need some direction, rather than spinning from sparkly to sparkly like a top. *sigh* I know, heresy, coming from the butterfly. But still. I need a Purpose in Life. Or was that a porpoise? Either might do..... (It really has been a long, long week).

I will save the fancy Dutch silk/velveteen/brocade ensemble for when I know he's going to be able to wear it for a while without adjustments.
