Anybody want to share names/specialties/contacts for A&S folks who live within a reasonable distance of Chicago and might be willing to travel to RUM - regardless of their Kingdom of residence.

I want to expand my database of potential teachers, and I don't have a lot of contacts to the west of the MK.

Let's see, here's the list:

First, I've been eyeing this delightful cotton velveteen that such a dark brown, it's nearly black. Think the ultimate dark chocolate. It finally went on really super sale... and there was only a 4 1/2 yd cut left. :-/. I really can't reasonably expect to get a dress out of that. Not of a style I want to make out of velveteen, anyway. So, that gets put away for John. A schaube? Or maybe a Shure doublet and pants.

Second, again for John, looking for parts for reproduction wheel lock pistol. [livejournal.com profile] hsifeng?

Third, [livejournal.com profile] ablackram, if you're in the market, the JoAnns at Centerpointe has a very nice selection of silk dupioni - the smooth stuff. One deep purple (which is really a shot plum and cobalt), and one lavendar. Just sayin'. Oh, and the Roclon muslin has smooth selvedges - it's probably what we want for our smocked shirts/chemises class. 36" or 45"? I'm thinkin' 45". Gotta see if I have a coupon.

I picked up a Simplicity pattern for Mom at Fields, since they were on sale. It was one she wanted for Anneliese, but couldn't find in her size. So, good that I got it, and for $1.97. But bad that I was too stupid to get the newer Raggedy Ann pattern and make use of the 2 for $3 part of the deal. *pound head*

I DO hate it when people don't anwer E-mails. How hard is this, really? But I'd say, trolling for anything RUM-related or other things that aren't friends has about a 50% reponse rate. :-/

Still - off to do more bush-beating.
