The same mogul who owns 10% of FB, Livejournal, and ICQ is looking to buy twitter. I suspect (and Wired speculates) that there is some sort of plan to dominate and integrate social media.
I do not use LJ for pure socialization. Y'all are largely my study group. And people who appreciate my goofy habits, hobbies, and are willing to at least empathize with "Livin' the Autistic Lifestyle".
FB is one thing. It is what it is - and has it uses.
It can't replace my journal and the great heaping wodges of my research therein.
I suspect LJ is about to begin a long, slow slide into chaos. The Gauls will sack Rome sooner or later. I'm a little torn. I've 'ported my content to Dreamwidth. But I may go back and forth for a while, as I try to make a decision. That will depend, at least in part, on what a lot of y'all do.
