Musing on "50 Things"

SO I decided that instead of just picking a challenge, I'd make out a list of the things I've been sort of planning to play with anyway. We'll see if that narrows it down any.

Dutch 1520's outfit, including hemd, undergown, overgown, apron, knotted silk hairnet, headpiece, partlet, gollar, and linen stockings with woven garters.

1550's Westphalia outift (haven't done enough research to even be sure WHAT layers I need, but....) Hemd, linen "corset," petticoat, skirt, jacket, hat.

16th century german "hunting" style deck of cards

Painted triptych on wood. Make gesso, make paints, paint in egg tempera and glazes.

Book of fairy tales - hand calligraphied, illuminated, and bound book of fairy tales from medieval sources.

Aha, I gather you created an LJ account to keep track of those who are intrigued by your challenge? You ought to "friend" us all to better track progress. If you're better than I am about it, you might even be able to set a filter that will only show you those posts related to the A&S 50 challenge, using the tags feature.

Actually, I created it so I could comment on a friend's blog, but it helps in other ways too. ;)

I've been hearing all week that folks are talking about the Challenge in their blogs, so I googled A&S 50 Challenge, to see what came up. People had told me that we were getting buzz (and over 100 hits a day confirmed that), but I wanted to see what some folks actually *thought* about the project, too.
