Many moons ago I was carrying on at length in regards to an image of what I call the Leiden Gown just for ease of referring to it as something unique. And I had mentioned an engraving that made visible the gusset under the arm in the side seam. I'd thought it was a print of Esther. Wrong Old Testament woman. It was a print of "Potiphar's Wife Accusing Joseph." Zoom the image to see what I mean:

While I was looking I found some other fun stuff.

A portrait of Sabine, Duchess of Simmern:

One of Amalia von Neuenahr-Alpen (I love these little watercolors. Alba Amicorum are my new thing)

One of Anna van Egmond, Grafin van Buren:

And some info on lace history, including a bio of Barbara Uthmann:

I suspect the statue is modern.

And some info on the heart of lacemaking in Germany:

Plus a book that might be worth a read. Need to find some reviews:

All in all, an interesting afternoon of surfing. Since none of my appointments are coming in.
